ILCA-NA Executive Committee
Meeting Minutes
September 17, 2013

Chairman Andy Roy called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm EDT.  Also in attendance were Al Clark, Eric Reitinger and Sherri Campbell.  Lauralee Symes and Meka Taulbee were unable to attend.

1.The minutes from July 9, 2013 were approved.

2.Status of action items
a.    Laser Website: a proposal for a new site is in process and will be circulated from the office upon receipt

3. Office Report
a.The Laser Sailor: Fall issue is in process and will likely be in the mail by mid     October.
b.Finances: financials through 8/31 distributed earlier. Expect to be near breakeven
at the fiscal year on Sept 30.
c.Membership: membership closed out the reporting deadline to ILCA at 1837 which
was behind the report at 8/31/2012 of 1974.

4. The Annual General Meeting was held on Thursday, July 25 in Kingston during the North American Championship.  Turnout was low with only 5 people in attendance.

5. Annual election – will be held in October based on the outline in the association by-laws.  The current chairman, vice chairman (confirmed after the call), treasurer and at large officers agreed to stand for re-election. Sherri reported that Lauralee Symes has communicated that she will step down as the secretary after 8 years on the ExCom.  The dates for the election process will be:
a. Nominations – October 7-13
b. Campaigns – October 15-21
c. Voting by district secretaries – October 22-24
Sherri will post a notice with these details on the class website and will communicate the
election schedule to the district secretaries.

6. AOB-
a.Request from the FortWalton Beach area to redistrict the Florida panhandle for the
east boundary of District 14 to be extended to the time zone line between the   Eastern and Central time zones. This geographic change will work for them better than their current status of being part of D13. All agreed to this and agreed to take it forward to the ILCA World Council for approval.
b.Andy Roy gave a summary of a recent ILCA update.  The legal issues with Bruce
Kirby are now in the discovery phase with a trial currently scheduled for June 2014.  The transition of the ILCA office from the UK to Texas is progressing with a US corporation now in place and the European Region administration now separated from the international office.
