Hyannis Regatta (D7)

The Hyannis Yacht Club's Regatta for One-Design and PHRF classes is held annually the last weekend in July in the waters of Nantucket Sound and Lewis Bay. This is the premier regatta on Cape Cod drawing boats from as far west as Chicago, as far south as Annapolis, and as far north as Canada. In addition to great racing, the Regatta offers daily parties with wonderful food (come for the breakfast buffet) and entertainment.

4.1 Advance registration Entry Form is available at

www.gsbyra.org

on the Forms page.

4.2 The boat’s representative must sign the Entry Form & include the skipper’s name and Date of Birth.

4.3 The Race Week Registrar must receive the completed advance Entry Form and the $$30 Entry Fee

by the July 24, 2010 deadline. Please make the check payable to GSBYRA and mail to the Race

4.4 Check-in, lunch sign up (extra fee) and payment of $$40 late entry fee for all competitors at WYS is:

The 2010 US Nationals will be held at Milwaukee Yacht Club.  The NOR and online registration are now active on the Laser Nationals site here. Don't delay in making your hotel reservations!  There is a big PTA conference being held in Milwaukee at the same time and rooms are going quickly.

NOTICE OF RACE

 

Rules

         The regattas will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing. 

Eligibility and Entry

         All Lasers, Radials, and 4.7s of all ages.

Fees

         $$5.00

Schedule

1130-1200          Registration at the Tiki Bar

1200                   Skippers Meeting

1300                   1st warning signal

No warning signal will be made after 1630.

Social Schedule

Munchies and beverages after racing.

The DIYC restaurant will be open for competitors all day until 1500. 

Sailing Instructions

         The sailing instructions will be available at registration.  Starts will use the Appendix S Sound-Signal Starting System.

Courses

Courses will be windward-leeward or triangle as shown in the sailing instructions.

Scoring

         A minimum of one race must be completed to constitute a regatta.

         When fewer than 5 races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores.

Prizes
Prizes of unparalleled taste and quality will be presented to the top 3 overall, at the Tiki Bar.
